AIDS Walk Atlanta is the largest AIDS fundraising event in the Southeast and this year aims to educate the public about how this disease impacts all of our lives. That is why this 18th annual event has the theme “Giving Every Life Hope”, conveying the message that without regard to race, age, gender, orientation or religion, everyone deserves equal support and treatment.
The event will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Piedmont Park and Grady High School, hosted by AID Atlanta, the largest non-profit community based HIV/AIDS service organization in the Southeast United States serving more than 80,000 Georgians.

While we're on the subject: there is a frightening though interesting article in this month's (September, James Franco on the cover) GQ concerning AIDS Prevention and how it is taking a back seat in our country as increasing amounts of people decline to use condoms, gay men commence sero-sorting, and the government blows tons of money on Abstinence-only and Vaccine programs versus Prevention efforts and alternatives.
It's a gripping read. Highly recommend it to any and everyone.
omg i read it yesterday!!! so good!
