Terrell Owens was released today by the Dallas Cowboys. This prompts me to say what most people are probably saying...ABOUT DAMN TIME!!
Since he's come into the league in 1996, he's become the NFL's official "bridge burner." He's destroyed bridges in San Francisco, with the 49ers...in Philadelphia, with the Eagles, and now in Dallas with the Cowboys. That doesn't include the countless team personnel and assistant coaches who have went on to become assistants and even head coaches on other NFL teams.
T.O. paints himself as the victim. "I just wanna help my team win," he said. In reality, no one is more egotistical, self-centered, and out of control than T.O. Like he said..."Just gimme that damn ball." Every time, T.O.? Really?
Owens' release by the Cowboys shouldn't surprise anyone at all. While he's an elite athlete still at the top of his game, he comes with a load of baggage and is liable to become a cancer in the locker room. Who wants all that? There are numerous teams that could use T.O. scoring touchdowns for them, but who's willing to come up with the right deal that protects both team and player?
Get your popcorn ready and stay tuned to see if the offers start pouring in for the most controversial player in the game.

I realize this is a blog that is bashing Terrell Owens and that is fine. As an Eagles fan I'm not to fond of him myself. When he signed with the Bills I checked out his website and found an interesting company that advertised on his site called Earsound Customs. Anyway, I saw a pic of Owens with a pair of gold ear buds and I thought they were the coolest thing. According to the site they are real 24kt gold. Oh well, as for Terrell we will see how much popcorn he eats in Buffalo.
