Going for Broke

President Obama gave a speech this morning on the state of modern transportation in America or the lack there of. He spoke of all the technology our European and Asian counterparts have benefited from by investing in fast lane highways and high speed trains to better transport their citizens. While an autobahn or super train may be some years out of our reach, an older method of getting around has been getting a bit of a makeover in metropolitan cities across the country.

With fluctuating stock markets, gas prices, and faith in the auto industry fading by the minute, sales in bikes have began to climb and appear more common among city dwellers. New inventions like this solar bike designed by Chen Weipeng have began to see an increase in demand.
