Q. First, I am truly in love with your website. I have only recently discovered your site, and all I can say is you are amazing. I have had multiple shoegasms and heart palpatations just looking at the postings. My question is what is your advice for big and tall men. Do you know of any good avenues that cater to the big and tall. Thanks
A. Big and tall doesn't mean life without style, and at 6'3 240lbs I know all to well what works best for a big and tall body types, it just means putting a little more effort on fit and final details.
Neatly cut hair/facial hair, shined shoes, a light fragrance, ect. Nothing says style like a well manicured man.
Wear clothes that fit.
Tailor your clothing (shirts, slacks, blazers). If the pants fit in the waist, but are busting at the seams at your thighs, buy a larger size that fits your thighs and have them taken in at the waist. It is better to pay $65 for a pants that fit you perfectly than $50 for pants that don't. Tight clothing just draws attention to the fact that the clothes don't fit you and further emphasizes curves you may not want want to hide. Oversized clothes make will only make you look bigger.
Classic cuts and muted color palettes work best for big and tall body types. If you feel like going out the box, do it with accessories. Just because they make it in your size doesn't mean u should wear it. It may looks great on your 5'10 160lbs homeboy, but that doesn't mean the same look will look great on you. All trends are not equal I.E.. skinny jeans.
Hats, neck-ties, belts and bags are all great ways to add color and style to any look.
PS. Thanks for the love and support from you and all our other readers! We sincerely appreciate the kind words.
