Top Contender

My top pick for Make Me A Super Model - Season 2 has to be Sandhurst.

Born and raised on the small island of Tobago in the south Caribbean where the entire community encouraged him to pursue modeling, Sandhurst spent his later teen years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before relocating to Philadelphia to attend Temple University and major in Public Relations. He was picked out of a crowd during Trinidad and Tobago's inaugural Fashion week and asked to walk in a runway show, which kick-started his career in the world of modeling. A classically trained dancer, Sandhurst has taken 12 years of ballroom dance, as well as studied ballet, tap, modern, and African dance forms.

Reel to Real Rundown: Finale, Finally

Return of the Rundown

So I've had a bit of the "bailout blues" for the past couple of weeks. Watching a retirement fund crash and burn will do that to a person, ya know. But I've come back to my senses just in time to watch our favorite runway reality show creep closer and closer to the finale!

That's right, the time has come for the train wreck called Kenley to finally make its exit from all of our lives. Speaking of which, did anyone else notice that of the final four remaining contestants Kenley was the only one who didn't have any friends or family to meet and greet Tim when he came to visit? Surprised? Anyone? Me either. Now her wedding dress (which was a very reminiscent of an Alexander McQueen gown) was definitely a huge surprise to everyone. Copycat much? You be the judge ...

Either way, in the end it was Jerrell who had to say auf Wiedersehen on the runway and give his double kisses to Heidi. That means that for the first time in Runway history it will be an all female battle royale in in Bryant Park this Wednesday night. How fitting since the series was sold to Lifetime television earlier this year, making this season the last to air on Bravo. Coincidence? Hmmmmm ...

Highlight: Kenley having to shin and grin with the other designers so that no one smothered her in her sleep.

Best Backstab: A jilted Jerrell saying "If all you want is a basic white tee, get it from Michael Kors. That's just not what I do."

Quote I'll Most Likely Be Repeating: “It bothers me a touch, quite honestly.” – Michael Kors in response to Kenley's McQueen makeover gown.

Out: Jerrell

Reel to Real Rundown: Todd to the Rescue

"If I see LL two mo times ... " - Natalie Desselle as "Mickey" in the 1997 movie BAPS.

When the highlight of one of your favorite shows is the guest star, it’s time to reprioritize your TV lineup. Mr. Smith showed up to judging last night. Partly to promote his new clothing line, but also to let the competitors know how authentic their music inspired outfits for each other turned out. But aside from Ladies Love, I could have drank a V8. This season has had way too many quirky challenges and not enough high fashion or catwalk cat fights. I hate to say it, but important as it is to find contestants with real talent, throw in a couple of crazies to keep the party going a little longer.

Highlight: Michael Kors describing Korto as“a woman going out to eat ribs” in her country getup.

Best Backstab: Jerell convincing Kenley that her look was right on point from start to finish.

Quote I'll Most Likely Be Repeating: “It just didn’t make the point.” – Nina to Kenley regarding her hip hop look for Leanne.

Winner: Korto's punk look for Suede
Out: Suede's rocker look for Jerell

Reel to Real Rundown: Cloning Kenley

Maybe I’ve watched The Invasion with Nicole Kidman one too many times (since HBO’s practically been running a marathon of it all week). But as soon as I saw the mother/daughter pair that was assigned to Kenley on this week’s episode of Runway, I felt like I should probably add another deadbolt to my front door just in case the epidemic has already started spreading. As if she needed another reason to invoke the 50’s into her design, Kenley lucked up with a girl who looks exactly like her for a challenge that was all about designing for someone else's personal style. In a weird way, the same thing also happened to challenge winner Jerell. He got a tall, lanky, androgynous young lady who I imagine shared a lot of parallels with his own lifestyle … for lack for a better word. Honestly, now that all of the final collections have already shown in Bryant Park I totally want to just fast forward straight through to the season finale.

Highlight: Kato actually breaking a smile after weeks of being among the top three designers on the runway.

Best Backstab: Kenley for (yet again) inappropriately sniggling during someone else critique.

Quote I'll Most Likely Be Repeating: “You could almost wear that and go to a Working Girl party.” - Michael Kors in reference to Joe’s pinstriped interpretation of professional.

Winner: Jerell
Out: Joe

Reel to Real Rundown: Runway Double Trouble

Ghosts from Project Runway seasons past stormed the show last night after Tim made the big announcement that two contestants would be going bye-bye this week instead of one. Christian, Jay, and Daniel were among the group of alumni. Though instead of judging, they were there to give the current contestants a quick critique before they showed to Nina, Michael, and Francisco Costa, creative director for Calvin Klein.

The real drama, however, all went down in the workroom. Kenley continued to annoy everyone with her big mouth. Leanne became especially aggravated and started a bitch session about her from the very next table. I’m also convinced that whatever Terri’s drug of choice is, she desperately needed a hit to make it through her awkward partnership with Keith. He was admittedly still “fragile” from being auf’d by Heidi a couple weeks prior. And of course Terri (being the earnest caretaker that she is) could care less and made sure Keith kept his “fragile” hands and ideas away from her garment.

Highlight: Jerell stealing the show with a flawlessly made three piece evening wear ensemble.

Best Backstab: Terri totally ignoring Keith for two days, then complaining at judging that he bailed on her.

Quote I’ll Most Likely Be Repeating: “Mmmhmmm … I see it!” – Kenley in reference to Leanne and Emily’s eye rolling.

Winner: Jerell

Out: Terri

Out: Blayne

Reel to Real Rundown: DVF Runs The Runway

Last week I said I needed more drama and the programming Gods at Bravo must have been listening. Last night on Project runway, Diane Von Furstenberg showed up and set everyone’s nerves on edge by dangling the opportunity to design a look inspired by her collection in front of their eyes. Cue the tears, because Kenley cried from that point all the way until her dreams of winning were trounced be Leanimal for the second week in a row.

Highlight: The look on Heidi’s face when American fashion royalty DVF, Michael Kors, and Fern Mallis, overruled her judgment that Kenley’s one piece wonder dress was too simple.

Best Backstab: Joe calling Terri’s recipe for success a tired one trick pony act.

Quote I’ll Most Likely Be Repeating: “I didn’t ask for details.”- Stella in reference to everyone’s concern over her garment.

Winner: Leanne
2nd Place: Kenley Last Designer Standing: Joe
Out: Stella

Reel to Real Rundown: Preview Rachel Zoe

The only show I have desperately anticipated this Fall was the return of Heroes to NBC. That fell by the wayside when I caught a preview of Bravo’s latest reality melodrama, The Rachel Zoe Project. If you’ve never heard of her, you won’t be able to live without her soon. An a-list exclusive, Rachel Zoe styles everyone who’s anyone in Hollywood. Lohan, Barton, Garner, Knightley, Hayek, Messing … you get where I’m going, right? Her fashion sense is impeccable and last night she gave us a preview of her insight on Project Runway.

Overall though the episode was pretty dullsville this week compared to others. This season they’re really not keeping too many characters around for dramatic effect. It’s been all about quality, taste, and style … as it should be ... but boringgggggg. I’m waiting on somebody’s eyes to get scratched out WHILE they make an amazing dress at the same time. But oh well, I can’t be in charge of everything. :-(

Highlight: Keith going home!

Best Backstab: Terri looking at Korto's design and asking her if she’d ever seen the movie Jeepers Creepers.

Quote I’ll Most Likely Be Repeating: “How embarrassing, like rushing? I’m not moving.” - Stella in response to the stampede towards materials for the challenge.

Winner: Leanne

2nd Place: Korto
Last Designer Standing: Blayne

Out: Keith

Reel to Real Rundown: All Hail The Queen

If you’re going to judge over the top showgirl drag couture, then you have to let the queen have some say in the matter. Last night RuPaul rated the runway with Heidi, Michael, & Nina and the whole time I was just waiting on a disco ball to slowly drop from the ceiling and Ru to break out into yet another performance of Supermodel.

Though that moment (thankfully) never happened, when drag & reality drama queens collide you are still promised nothing less than a spectacle. I don’t know what was funnier; Ru suggesting that Daniel’s dress was so average that he’d have the girls “selling hormones up in Harlem to make the rent money” or Hedda Lettuce completely trouncing all over Suede’s cabbage ball gloves that he believed were divinely inspired by his late grandfather. Seriously … you can’t make this stuff up if you tried!

Highlight(s): Terry and Joe exchanging dirty looks all throughout judging and Terry looking like she could have whopped his ass after he won.

Best Backstab: Jerell stating to Blayne that he couldn’t wait to see Keith’s “wookie onesie” on the runway and Blaine stepping right in on cue with the wookie sound effects.

Quote I’ll most likely be repeating: “That outfit really fit her frequency.” - RuPaul’s reflection on Joe’s winning design.

Winner: Joe & Varla Jean Merman

2nd Place: Korto & Sweetie

3rd Place: Terry & Acid Betty

Last Man Standing: Keith & Sherry Vine

Out: Daniel & Aneeda Greenkard

Reel to Real Rundown: Return of the Boom Kack

As if you really needed another addiction in your life right now! I know and I’m so sorry. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them, lol. I really don’t care how you feel about Diddy, if you’re a Danity Kane fan, or if you’ve even heard the entire Day 26 album yet (no really, has anybody heard it?). Forget about all of them as artists, if that’s not your thing, and simply tune in for the fireworks. There’s sure to be lots of them this season!!!

First and foremost … sheeeeeeeeeeeeeee’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccckkkkkkk!

Queen Boom Kack Laurie Ann Gibson returns to whip everybody in shape, including Diddy if he crosses the line with her again. She waists no time in this first episode breaking the boys down and building them right back up again.

Highlight:
The way Laurie Ann stood her ground and didn’t let Diddy breeze by without addressing his hand in their big blowup last season.

Quote I’ll Most Likely Be Repeating:
“Please don’t tell me you’re Brokedown Palace already.” - Laurie Ann to Mike when he struggles with the new routine.

Real to Real Rundown: Top This!

With the success of last season's first plus size model winner Whitney, Top Model seems to be becoming more and more inclusive each go round. This season Tyra welcomes the shows first confirmed transgender contestant!!!

22 year old Isis Tsunami (she even has a drag name, I love her already!) will work the runway along side thirteen other girls for the title of Top Model. And she's not the only one with an interesting story this year. Among the bunch is a girl with short term memory loss and one that was even sold to Saudi Arabian royalty as a wife!

But looking back, I have my suspicions that this isn't the first time a contestant has had to use double sided tape below the waist. Last season, I had my magnifying glass out trying to see what was really going on with Dominique.

Her hard face an attitude had everyone (including the judges) wondering if she really had a child back home or if by "child" she was referring to her pet Yorkie. In the end it was her dragish look in this Nigel Barker photo shoot below that sent her home. Even still, this was one of the final challenges. So if Isis knows her angles in advance she just might make it overseas.

Season 11 of Top Model kicks off September 3rd at 8pm. Visit http://www.cwtv.com/shows/americas-next-top-model11 for more info and local listings.

Reel to Real Rundown: Project Brooke

Team Challenge with special guest Brooke Sheilds. The winner of this challenge will have their deisgn worn by Brooke on the second season of Lipstick Jungle on NBC this fall. (Don't worry ... I'll let you know before the episode airs:-)

Top Two:
Keith and Kenley (Winners)

Jerrell and Stella

Bottom Two:
Blaine & Leanne

Kelly & Daniel (Kelly/Out)

Highlight:
Kenley busting out laughing on the runway while Daniel tells the judges all about his "high end taste" for the hundredth time.

Best Backstab(s):
Joe's sudden "concerns" about Karto's outfit the minute Tim shows up. Daniel caring less about anything Kelly came up with, including his own work on the outfit.

Quote I’ll Most Likely Repeat:
“I aint got no babies, aint nobody sucking on my tittys, so please man up.”
- Terry in her play-by-play interview about her partner Suede
